I met Rod, Jane and Freddy whilst working on Rainbow Children's programme, I used to illustrate stories (see TV images) When they left Thames TV they commissioned myself to create a print design style for their theatre posters and programmes.

On a technical note.
These posters were created not using a computer. They were produced as half size artwork with cut out paper.
To print these posters I chose for the Christmas poster Red, Green and Black
and for the Polka Theatre Blue, Dark Cyan and Black.
The artwork had to be separated into three individual, single-colour pieces of film on an acetate sheet overlay with registration marks.
The traditional method of preparing colour artwork for print is called colour separation. Before desktop publishing, artists, photographers, and "strippers" used physical, manual techniques to break down artwork into the four standard printing inks: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Key (Black)—collectively known as CMYK
